Junior Music Course (JMC) (for 4 and 5 year olds)

Classes are designed to give your child musical experiences that nurture their creativity.

Weekly 50 minute lessons include keyboard playing to introduce the joy of expressing music as well as developing a sense of keyboard harmony, ensemble, and technique.

Other activities include ear training through listening activities, singing for reinforcement of self expressions, tempo, rhythm, pitch and understanding of note names.

Ultimately, the children participate in activities that will foster musical creativity and originality.

Young Musicians (for 6 – 7 year olds)

Classes are geared towards motivating young children through age appropriate music, and the use of electronic keyboards specifically designed to enable an incredible variety of sound ranging from the classical violin to the modern electric guitar. Children will learn piano technique through solo and ensemble playing.

Additional activities include singing, ear training, arranging, technique, theory and more.

Classes meet once a week for 50-minutes.

Keyboard Encounters Kids (for 8 – 9 year olds)

Begin playing the piano on day one! This course features music reading, solo & ensemble playing, singing and more. With four age appropriate textbooks, enhanced by professionally recorded background music, it is also a lot of fun!

Enjoy a wide variety of activities in the classroom that will better prepare your child to learn and live the gift of music.

Keyboard Encounters (for 10-13 year olds and Adults)

“An innovative course of piano-style instruction where tradition and technology meet in harmony.”

Students play on Yamaha digital pianos and learn technique, music reading, theory, and notation through various types of music such as jazz, blues, classical, country, pop, and more.

Group playing strengthens rhythm skills and listening habits while developing confidence. Students will also have the opportunity to perform solos for their classmates.

Private Lessons

Private lessons are usually reserved for students who have graduated a class, or have prior piano experience. They are not recommended for children under 10 years of age unless special circumstances exist. Please call for teacher availability.

Lessons are once a week for 1/2 hour.
